Room 406, evening

Aside from being social and cooking on Friday morning, answering a letter and talking to Jaina today, Isabel had had a mostly quiet weekend as she worked on finishing up her college applications. They were finally done and stacked neatly in a pile on her desk, ready to be mailed in the morning.

To celebrate, Isabel flipped on the TV and got ready to watch the premiere of The Amazing Race. She'd missed Phil Keoghan.

The door was open.

"Killer fatigue," Wyatt said. "It's when the exhaustion really starts to get to them, and they become completely unraveled."

"And doing simple tasks become impossible," Isabel added. "At that point? Even the most easy going teams start going off the deep end."

"They don't call that thing with the bike an easy task, do they?"

"They forget how to count," Wyatt said. "But I'd consider the bike easier than some of the eating challenges."

"The bike's easy. Just close your eyes and go. Wyatt's right, some of the eating challenges are just brutal." Isabel shuddered, remembering the five pounds of questionable meat.

"We talking bugs?" Peter asked.

"I don't remember bugs," Wyatt said. "That's more Survivor, but it wouldn't surprise me in TAR, either. Most of the time it's like five pounds of mystery meat or sausage, not too gross, but a hell of a lot to get down."

"You forgot about the baby octopuses," Isabel grimaced. "In Korea. They were attaching to the guy's teeth as he tried to eat them."

"This is when it's pretty much my fault for asking, right?"

Wyatt grinned. "There's a reason we don't have munchies while watching TAR. Just in case."

"We had cookies earlier," Isabel admitted. "But I figured we were pretty safe during the intros. Do you want some? I mean they're in Ireland. I don't think they can do anything to gross to a potato."

"Never know," Peter said. "Strange things could happen in Ireland."

"We'll probably have to worry if they go to Scotland," Wyatt said, helping himself to one of the aforementioned cookies. "Unless to go to a pub and have to down shots of whiskey."

"Oh god....Haggis," Isabel laughed, reaching for another cookie. "There's not enough Tabasco in the world to make that taste good."
