Room 406, evening

After a the hectic pace of the last few weeks, Isabel was grateful for some downtime, even if it meant she had too much time to think about fun with the kids and saying goodbye.

But things were slowly returning to normal. She'd covered library, had breakfast with Cedric, spent time with friends, and fulfilled StuCo responsibilities. Looking at the two packages sitting on her desk, Isabel realized that some things had slipped through the cracks. She made two phone calls then settled down to do some studying.

"Two," Isabel smiled. "A four year old little guy named Josh Evans-Sanders, and a seven year old chatterbox named Alexandria with Jack. How about you?"

"I had two with Zero," Peter said. "May Anarchy and Arachnid Ben Hopeless-Savage-Parker. I honestly don't know about the names."

"I like them. They've got character," she laughed. Isabel got to her feet, and got brightly wrapped package from her desk. "And I think this has character as well. Happy birthday Peter."

"It's a turtle!" Peter said cheerfully. "Is it alive? You can never be sure when you're talking about turtles. Them being slow and all."

"Isn't he cute? I don't think he is," Isabel said seriously. "But it is Fandom. That could change. I know he's goofy. But I thought he was cute."

"You were right," Peter said. "Thank you so much."

"You're welcome so much," she smiled. "I figure he can keep you company in your single."

"I wonder if I can find some way to stick him to my ceiling," Peter pondered.

"Didn't your daughter have a fondness for sticking things to the ceiling?" Isabel asked. "I thought Parker mentioned something about that."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 02:00 am (UTC)(link)
"No, she didn't," Peter said. "She stuck people there."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 02:06 am (UTC)(link)
Isabel laughed, "Yes, Parker's daughter for one."

"Her brother for another. Do me a favor, if I ever think of giving webshooters to any children I have, stop me?" Peter asked.

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 02:22 am (UTC)(link)
"Oh hell no. The amusement value is entirely too much fun."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
"You're a terrible person, you know that?" Peter asked.

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
"Yup. Just awful," she said seriously. "Absolutely awful."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 02:38 am (UTC)(link)
"If you hadn't bribed me with a turtle present, I'd be very mad at you in the future," Peter said.

"Even if I offered to babysit?"

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 02:49 am (UTC)(link)
"That depends on if you'll have learned to block webbing," Peter said.

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 02:51 am (UTC)(link)
"My ability to shield got a lot better over the last few months," Isabel said. "I think I'll be able to protect myself."

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 02:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Good. I'm guessing that this kind of thing would be a prerequisite for any and all babysitters," Peter said.

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
"Either that or you're going to have to pay double the going rate," she chuckled.

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 03:13 am (UTC)(link)
"No, I figure the webs would make it quadruple," Peter said. "Those two kids would start at double."

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
"I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to meet them," Isabel said. "They sound wonderful. How long will you have to wait to see them again?"

[identity profile] peter--parker.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 03:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Seven years, I think, assuming everything works out?" Peter said.

[identity profile] izzyalienqueen.livejournal.com 2007-04-21 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh nice. Something to look forward to," she smiled a bit wistfully. "I never asked because I honestly can't see either one happening."
