There were a million different things that still needed to be done in order to get ready for the wedding and Isabel should probably still be in Neptune to take care of them.

But it was the night of the best meteor shower of the year. And more importantly, it was time spent alone with Wyatt. Between his getting settled in San Francisco and her going crazy with wedding plans, they'd barely gotten to spend any time together over the last few weeks.

Which was why, when Wyatt turned up at the Echolls mansion, it had only taken a minute's consideration before she'd tossed the clipboard and her cell phone aside to go and pack for a night out.

Now, as she unloaded the camping stuff they'd borrowed from her parents, Isabel could only smile. "This was a very, very good idea."

"Wouldn't miss it," Wyatt grinned, finding a spot to spread the blankets on the ground.

"What would you have done if it was raining?" Isabel asked, carrying the sleeping bags over.

"There's gotta be a spell in the Book of Shadows to control the weather," Wyatt said.

She shook her head and started to spread the sleeping bags over the blankets. "Doesn't that fall under personal gain though?"

Wyatt made a face. "Technically, yeah, I guess," he said. "I won't tell if you won't?"

"My lips are sealed," Isabel promised. "Besides, it's a moot point. It looks like the weather's going to be perfect."

"Perfect night, perfect girl," Wyatt said, stepping over to Isabel and tugging her into his arms.

"Sweet talker," she said, wrapping her arms around him. Isabel sighed and rested her head on Wyatt's shoulder. "Missed you."

"Missed you, too," Wyatt said. "It sucks sleeping alone now. I can't get used to it."

"Tell me about it," Isabel grumbled. "The teddy bear doesn't snuggle back."

"Once we both get settled this fall we'll have more time," Wyatt said, kissing the top of her head. "Unless someone else decides to get married and asks you to plan it."

After a few minutes thinking about the various couples they knew, she shook her head. "I think we're safe. Unless Phoebe, Bel and Anders decide to make things legal."

"Not even California allows that yet," Wyatt chuckled. "Unless they move to Utah and become mormons or something."

"Mormons? Can you really see that happening?" Isabel laughed. "Because I'm having a really hard time picturing it."

"Yeah, doesn't seem very likely," Wyatt agreed. "They'll just live in sin. Not that there's anything wrong with that."

"Nope. Not a thing. All that matters is that they're happy." She tipped her head up and kissed him, murmuring, "Just like I am."

"It'll be even nicer once we're all set up," Isabel pointed out. "Of course then we'll have to think of something to do to pass the time until the moon sets."

"I guess that means letting you go," Wyatt sighed, stepping back. "But not for long."

"No. Not long at all." She had to agree, she'd missed him a lot the last few weeks. "So you're settling in okay?"

"Yeah, Grandpa's glad to have someone around the house to tell what to do," Wyatt grinned. "He's had to do all the chores by himself."

"The horrors," Isabel exclaimed, grabbing the bag with the marshmallows and chocolate from the back of the car. "You have to do dishes and clean up after yourself?"

"It's absolutely awful," Wyatt said solemnly, unloading the tinder and firewood from the car. He made a ring of stones and started to set up a good fire.
